Onion Soup Mix
I like using the pre-made onion soup mix for my dinner dishes but when I have run out this is the next best thing. I feel like it gives more flavor to the soup because you’re cooking with fresh onions and garlic instead of everything being preserved and dried.
- ¼ c Onion, Diced
- 2 tb Beef Bouillon
- ¼ tsp Onion Powder
- ¼ tsp Parsley Flakes
- 1/8 tsp Celery Seed or Celery Flakes
- 1/8 tsp Paprika
- 1/8 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 tb Garlic, diced
- Dice onions and garlic.
- Mix together all dry ingredients.
- Combine all ingredients together and add to main dish and continue cooking!
How to dry onions at home!
To dry onions, spread the onion bulbs out on a clean and dry surface in a well-ventilated location, such as a garage or a shed. Onions should be allowed to dry for at least two to three weeks or until the tops necks are completely dry and the outer skin on the onion becomes slightly crisp. Cut tops off to within one inch after drying is complete. Most onions can be kept up to 3 months if dried and stored properly!
