Teriyaki Sauce

Teriyaki sauce

This sweet gingery thick sauce is so easy to make your going to be scratching your head wondering why you haven’t been making this your whole life. The ingredients are simple and probably already in your pantry.

Ingredients
• ½ c Packed Brown Sugar
• ½ c Soy Sauce
• ¼ c Pure Honey
• 2 c Water
• 2 large Cloves of Garlic, Minced
• 1 tsp Ground Ginger Root
• ¼ c Cornstarch
• ½ c Cold Water

Directions:
1. In a medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger and water.
2. Heat to just a boil and all of the brown sugar has dissolved.
3. In a separate bowl, combine cornstarch and remaining cold water. Stir until there are no lumps.
4. Add cornstarch water to saucepan and stir. Heat until it starts to boil reduce heat to medium cook till desired thickness.

This is a quick sauce that can be poured over pan fried chicken, or if your really pinched for time grab a rotisserie chicken. I throw white rice in my little rice cooker and by the time its ready (usually 25min.) I have a whole meal ready to serve. Pairs well with steamed veggies ( I prefer broccoli or cabbage with a little butter)
